Olympic Gods

Hera, Queen of Olympus

Hera, sister and wife of Zeus, reigned as queen of Olympus and protector of marriage, family, and women in childbirth. Crowned with the diadem and bearing her royal sceptre, she was a fierce defender of the marital bond — and an equally fierce adversary to those who threatened it, including many of Zeus's mortal lovers and their children. Her temple at Samos was among the largest in the Greek world, and her sacred peacock remains the eternal emblem of regal pride and divine watchfulness.
