Angel bookend right side

The right-hand bookend angel completes a pairing whose symmetry has guarded the written word for centuries. In the Book of Exodus, two cherubim face one another atop the Ark of the Covenant, their wings sheltering the tablets of the law — the prototype of every angel-pair set to either side of sacred text.
