Leonidas Running with Sword & Shield
When the Spartan phalanx finally broke at Thermopylae, Leonidas and his guard charged forward — not to escape, but to die advancing. This sculpture captures that final movement, the relentless Spartan ideal of "with your shield or upon it" made flesh. Two and a half thousand years later, his name still summons the image of a warrior who refused to retreat.
