Aristotle bust statue
Aristotle (384–322 BC), student of Plato and tutor to the young Alexander the Great, founded the Lyceum in Athens and laid the foundations for nearly every discipline of Western thought — logic, ethics, biology, politics, poetics, metaphysics. For nearly two thousand years his works defined what it meant to think systematically; medieval Europe simply called him "the Philosopher". His bust represents the apex of the empirical mind.
